Commercial mortgage loan and real estate investments have been important parts of
the company's successful investment strategy for decades, and today, the company's
holdings of these assets total over $9 billion. Unique among its peers, Pacific
Life built a highly successful, direct lending program through its network
of regional offices nationwide. Through these regional offices, along with proactive
investment purchases made by its Capital Markets group, Pacific Life has generated over
$10
billion in new commercial mortgage investments during the last 5
years.
Pacific Life began servicing commercial mortgage and real estate assets for third party,
private clients in the 1970s and was an early participant in the commercial mortgage backed
securities market beginning in 1985. Our servicing clients benefit from the Company’s
perspective and expertise as a direct lender and principal investor in high quality real
estate as there is a continuing focus on underlying real estate fundamentals throughout
the administrative and servicing process.
Recently, Real Estate’s Commercial Servicing Operation has expanded its service base,
and today offers a wide variety of administrative, analytic, accounting, cash management,
document control and technology services in support of Pacific Life, affiliate and
third party-owned mortgage, real estate, aircraft and inventory financing portfolios.
